THE Inspector General of Police intelligence response team in Omu Awa forest, Ikwere LGA of Rivers State has killed notorious kidnap kingpin, Henry Chibueze (aka Vampire), in gun battle.
Five other members of late Vampire’s gang were also arrested alive during the raid with caches of arms and ammunition recovered.
It was gathered that Vampire, around 1:30am on Thursday, the Special Force deployed to Imo State, by the IGP, Ibrahim Idris, to track down Vimpaire and other members of his gang, tailed him to his hideout in Omu-Awa forest in Ikwerre were he was killed.
It will be recalled that Vampire, who escaped from prison custody in January, when some gunmen reported to be his gang members stormed the Owerri High Court in Imo State and rescued him.
The suspects have reportedly confessed to breaking Vampire out of prison late January and also their involvements in some high profile kidnaps after the breakaway.
