Love can’t be bought; love is earned. Brand love is earned through consistency. A lovely brand does not necessarily make brand love, but brand love definitely makes a lovely brand. Years of emotional investment through value creation is an important recipe for brand love. Customers are loyal to a tested and trusted brand.

Make new customers fall in love with your brand and also keep the existing ones excited and satisfied this New Year as you meditate on the following lovely quotes and practice them religiously:

“A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things well.” —Jeff Bezos

“A brand is no longer what we tell the consumer it is—it is what consumers tell each other it is.” —Scott Cook

“If people believe they share values with a company, they will stay loyal to the brand.” —Howard Schultz

“A brand is the set of expectations, memories, stories and relationships that, taken together, account for a consumer’s decision to choose one product or service over another.” —Seth Godin

“Your brand is not what you sell.” —John Iwata

“A brand’s strength is built upon its determination to promote its own distinctive values and mission.” —Jean-Noel Kapferer

“Branded content is created for a company. A content brand is created for a valuable company.” —Drew Davis

“Branding demands commitment; commitment to continual re-invention; striking chords with people to stir their emotions; and commitment to imagination.” —Sir Richard Branson

“Your culture is your brand.” —Tony Hsieh

“Your brand is what other people say about you when you’re not in the room” —Jeff Bezos, Amazon CEO

“Brand is just a perception, and perception will match reality over time.” —Elon Musk

“Too many companies want their brands to reflect some idealized, perfected image of themselves. As a consequence, their brands acquire no texture, no character, and no public trust.” —Richard Branson, Virgin Group Founder

“Your premium brand had better be delivering something special, or it’s not going to get the business.” —Warren Buffet, Berkshire Hathaway CEO

“Focus on building the best possible business. If you are great, people will notice and opportunities will appear.” —Mark Cuban, Dallas Mavericks Owner

“For better or for worse, our company is a reflection of my thinking, my character, my values.” —Rupert Murdoch, Founder of News Corporation

“Personal branding is about managing your name — even if you don’t own a business — in a world of misinformation, disinformation, and semi-permanent Google records. Going on a date? Chances are that your “blind” date has Googled your name. Going to a job interview? Ditto.” —Tim Ferriss

“A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things well.” —Jeff Bezos

“It’s important to build a personal brand because it’s the only thing you’re going to have. Your reputation online, and in the new business world is pretty much the game, so you’ve got to be a good person. You can’t hide anything, and more importantly, you’ve got to be out there at some level.” —Gary Vaynerchuk

“The keys to brand success are self-definition, transparency, authenticity and accountability.” —Simon Mainwaring

“Your brand is a gateway to your true work. You know you are here to do something – to create something or help others in some way. The question is, how can you set up your life and work so that you can do it? The answer lies in your brand. When you create a compelling brand you attract people who want the promise of your brand – which you deliver.” —Dave Buck

“In a world where you can be anything, be yourself.” —Etta Turner

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” – George Bernhard Shaw

“Start by knowing what you want and who you are, build credibility around it and deliver it online in a compelling way.” —Krista Neher

“There isn’t any significant difference between the various brands of whiskey, or cigarettes or beer. They are all about the same. And so are the cake mixes and the detergents, and the margarines… The manufacturer who dedicates his advertising to building the most sharply defined personality for his brand will get the largest share of the market at the highest profit.” —David Ogilvy

“Marketing is no longer about the stuff you make but about the stories you tell.” —Seth Godin

“We are all storytellers. We all live in a network of stories. There isn’t a stronger connection between people than storytelling.” —Jimmy Neil Smith

“If your stories are all about your products and services, that’s not storytelling. It’s a brochure. Give yourself permission to make the story bigger.” —Jay Baer
