VICE Chancellor of Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Professor Jonathan Babalola, has reiterated his administration’s determination to continue to commit the university resources to producing academically sound and morally upright graduates for the local and international workforce.
He made the remark at the 23rd matriculation ceremony of the university, during which about 1,600 new students were officially absorbed into the university.
Professor Babalola told the new students that Bowen is not just an academic centre, but a community deeply rooted in the core values of goodness, excellence, entrepreneurship, innovation, and social responsibility.
He encouraged the matriculants to commit themselves to their studies and shun all forms of immorality, distraction, and vice, as the university would not condone any form of anti-social behaviour, including drug and substance abuse.
The guest lecturers, Leye Falade, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Brunei Liquefied Natural Gas, and his twin brother, Gbite Falade, MD/CEO of Aradel Holding Plc, in their addresses both attributed sustainable success in life to hard work, consistency, discipline, and godliness.
They urged the new students to be focused in their study, set their priorities right, break down their plans into little processes, and pursue them rigorously.
