Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom has said that his political future is in the hands of the people of the state.
Ortom, who spoke with newsmen after his return from Abuja, said that his statement after meeting with the leadership of the APC viz a viz his declaration on Monday was misconstrued.
He explained that the leader of the party is the one who gave him red card but which the national leader of the party has quashed.
According to him, “I was very clear when I spoke on Monday, but it was misinterpreted, I met with the leadership of the APC at the national level and the discussion is ongoing, because no decision has been taken.
“All things happening now, at the end of the day, it is what the Benue people tell me to do that I will do.”
The governor, who frowned at the report that he has made a u-turn, said that he is still with the APC.
Ortom said that since the national leadership of the APC is on the issue explained that he is awaiting the decision of the party’s leadership on the issue.
