Bauchi State proposed 2020 appropriation has been approved by the State Executive Council (SEC) and will soon be presented to the State House of Assembly by the Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir.
Also, the SEC has approved the Medium Expenditure Framework of the 2020 proposed budget in line with the best financial practices to ensure that the budget is implementable for the benefit of the populace.
These were the outcome of the Council meeting held on Wednesday as announced by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa while briefing newsmen late Wednesday evening on the decisions of the Council meeting chaired by the State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed.
Aminu Gamawa who was in the company of his colleagues during the briefing further explained that the Medium Expenditure Framework is a document that articulates the current economic situation and realities of the state and the country in general.
According to him, the expenditure framework is a foundation for the budget as it is an estimate of what the state will be getting from Federation Account, counterpart fundings and its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

The Budget and Economic Planning Commissioner also said that with the approval of the document by the State Executive Council, Governor Bala Mohammed is expected to very soon present the budget to the State Assembly for processing the subsequent approval.
The Budget and Economic Planning Commissioner described the State 2020 budget as a special considering that it was designed based on the available resources and the first by the PDP led administration.
On other issues deliberated upon at the meeting, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dr Ladan Salihu said that the Council terminated the appointment of all Heads of Administrations across the 20 Local government areas of the state.
Ladan Salihu further said that this is to ensure that all the affected officers did not interfere with the ongoing BVN verification at the local governments level.
On the status of the two state-owned media outfits, the Information and Communications Commissioner said that henceforth, Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC) and Bauchi State Television (BATV) will be merged under the supervision of one Managing Director in order to ensure effective service delivery in line with global best practices.
The State Spokesperson then assured people of the state of quality and effective governance by the PDP led administration calling on them for cooperation and support declaring that constructive criticisms will be appreciated by the government to enable it to serve the people better.
