ONE of the gubernatorial aspirants under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Bauchi State, Dr Ibrahim Yakubu Lame, last Wednesday at the Palace of the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, declared that President Muhammadu Buhari is in support of their political mission and ambition in the State.
While speaking at the palace of the Emir during a courtesy visit shortly after staging a joint rally with his co- aspirant, Captain Muhammad Bala Jibrin, Yakubu Lame explained that the two of them are in the race to change the incumbent Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar for alleged underperformance in the last three years of his governance.
Yakubu Lame who once served as Minister of Police Affairs in the country said that they had agreed to back any of them who enjoyed more support in order to defeat Mohammed Abubakar in the upcoming governorship primary election in the State.
He also said that the national headquarters of the party has reiterated its commitment to conducting the direct primary election in the State which according to him would be more transparent and credible than the delegates system.

“We are ready to accept the outcome of the primary election in good faith provided that it is conducted through a credible and direct system where all cards carrying members of the party vote,” he posited.
Also speaking, Captain Muhammad Bala Jibrin berated the Bauchi State chapter of the party for endorsing Mohammed Abubakar as the candidate during a recent stakeholders meeting saying that it was not a collective opinion of the party stakeholders because they were not invited to attend the meeting.
He also said that they are working towards possible steeping down for one of them with the strongest support to challenge the incumbent Governor at the upcoming primary election.
While responding, the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Suleimanu Adanu, urged the aspirants and their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully in all political their political activities in order to maintain the good name of the State.
