Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, warmly received a delegation of former All Progressives Congress (APC) members from various wards in Giade LGA who recently decamped to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The delegation was led by Honourable Adamu Bello, a prominent political figure from the area who recently defected from the APC.
The event, which took place at the Government House in Bauchi, saw the new PDP members warmly welcomed by the Governor, who praised their decision to join the party.
Bala Mohammed expressed his commitment to providing a level playing field for all party members, assuring them that they would be given equal opportunities without bias or favouritism.
According to him, “I commend your decision to join the PDP, and I want to assure you that this is a party that values inclusivity, fairness, and equal opportunity for all members.”
The governor also said during the meeting that, “As your leader, I will ensure that you are given the necessary support to thrive within the party, and together, we will continue to work towards the development of our state.”
In his remarks, the Honourable Adamu Bello, who led the decampees, expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for his warm reception and recognition of their political transition.
Adamu Bello noted that the decision to move to the PDP was driven by a shared vision for the future of Bauchi State, one that prioritises development, unity, and progress for all its citizens.
According to him, “We are deeply honoured by the governor’s hospitality and the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the PDP in Bauchi State. We believe that under the leadership of Senator Bala Mohammed, the state will continue to flourish.”
The decamping of the APC members from Giade LGA is seen as a significant political shift in the region, as the PDP seeks to strengthen its presence and broaden its support base in Bauchi State ahead of future elections.
Bala Mohammed’s leadership continues to attract political realignments across the state, with many new members expressing confidence in his governance and the development initiatives he has championed in recent years.
