Bauchi gov, Abubakar loses polling unit to PDP candidate

Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar who is seeking  reelection as Governor under the platform of the ruling  All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly lost his polling unit to the candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bala Muhammed Abdulkadir  in the ongoing gubernatorial and state house of assembly election in the state.

At the Governor’s polling unit, Gindin Durumi, polling unit of Makama/Sarkin Baki ward of Bauchi Local Government Area, the Presiding Officer, Mr Chinedu Onora while counting the number of votes, announced that Bala Muhammed of the PDP polled the highest number of votes.

According to the Presiding Officer, the total number of votes gathered by the governorship candidate of the PDP at the polling unit was 358, while the total number of votes scored by the Governor was 288.

He said that Bala Muhammed defeated the governor at the polling unit with a difference of 70 votes.

Chinedu Onora also stated that the total number of invalid votes recorded at the polling unit was 59.

It would be recalled that even in the presidential and national assembly elections, the Governor lost his polling unit to the opposition PDP.
