Officers of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi State Command have been charged to strictly adhere to security agencies’ election duty guidelines.
The charge was made by the Sector Commander, Yusuf Abdullahi while briefing personnel who are on election duty at the Command headquarters on Friday.
He also charged that the staff should be security conscious and ensure that they checked the drivers conveying them in case of overspending and reckless driving.
The Sector Commander so told them that communication remains vital, staff should ensure that their phones are well charged and possibly go along with power banks and should be environmentally conscious.
Abdullahi further reminded them that neatness and smartness remain the culture of the Corps which they should sustain throughout the period their duty will last.
He then dispatched the personnel to the State Police Command Headquarters where they will be transported to their various polling units just as he directed all unit commanders to do the same to their staff.
Meanwhile, a lone fatal crash claimed the life of one person while another person was injured.
According to a road traffic crash report from the Bauchi Sector Command of the FRSC, RS 12.1, the crash occurred on 16/03/2023 at 2330hrs, reported at 2335hrs while FRSC personnel arrived at the scene at 2340hrs, a response time of 05 minutes.
The route of the crash is the ever-busy Bauchi -Jos Federal highway while the location is Shafa Kwari with two people involved.
The vehicle is a Ford, Sharon Galaxy with registration number BLR844AA used for commercial purposes and driven by Abubakar Muhammad while the probable cause of the crash was Speed limit violation (SPV)
Two people, all male adults were involved in the crash with one dead while the other was injured.
The Vehicle and properties were handed over to the GRA Police Station MTD in Bauchi for necessary action while the corpse and the injured were taken to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) for medication and deposing at the morgue as led by a rescuer, IM Isah on behalf of the Sector Commander.
