To ensure a smooth implementation for effective service delivery, Bauchi State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa has assured that the state’s 2020 appropriation will be concluded by the end of November to enable the Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir lay it before the State House of Assembly for approval.
Aminu Hassan Gamawa gave the assurance while speaking when he featured on a Bauchi Radio Corporation phone in Hausa programme tagged, “Tafiya Da Gwani”.
The Commissioner said that after the Ministry concludes its assignment of budgeting for all the sectors, it will forward the proposed budget to Governor Bala Mohammed and the State Executive Council for inputs before presentation to the State House of Assembly adding that before that, there will be public hearing and town hall meetings across the state to get the inputs of the general public.

According to him, the present administration will ensure the early presentation of the year 2020 budget to the State House of Assembly in order to ensure its timely passage for the execution of developmental projects and programs in line with the PDP line of action.
He said that already, the state government has designed a Midterm Expenditure Framework on the priority areas of the administration and a robust fiscal strategy paper.
The Commissioner stated that “As you are aware, the priority areas of the administration of Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed is in sectors of Health, Education, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Youth and Women Empowerment”.
Aminu Gamawa also said that with the support of the Governor, capital projects were given special attention in the proposed budget, and noted that, projects without resources of executing them were rejected in the budget.
He stressed that “In the budget process, we considered our Internally Generated Revenue, Federation Allocation and support of donor agencies”.
The Commissioner further said that various priority projects across the focus areas of the governor were included in the projects, including the ones recently awarded by the governor.
The Budget and Economic Planning Commissioner who insisted that as time for partisan politics is over, stressed the need for the people of the state regardless of their political differences to join hands with the present administration for the development of the state as contained in a statement by Muslim Lawal, Personal Assistant on Media to the Honourable Commissioner.
