Six persons were killed in a lone vehicular accident involving a Toyota bus which occurred near Obasanjo farms along Asaba-Ogwashi Uku – Kwale – Ughelli road in Delta State at the weekend.
While four of the victims died on the spot, two others gave up ghosts at the hospital.
Report from the area said six other passengers who were seriously injured were taken to the General hospital in Ogwashi Uku from where they were moved to the federal medical centre, Asaba for further medical attention.
Tribune Online gathered that 18 persons in the bus with registration number, AKD 596 GE were returning to Warri from Anambra State on Saturday where they attended a burial ceremony.
According to some of the survivors, one of the bus tyres burst which made the driver lose control, thereby making the vehicle summersault several times.
Confirming the story on Sunday, the state Commander of the federal road safety corps (FRSC), Ibrahim Abubakar advised motorists against overspeeding, adding that the driver or the ill-fated bus may have run into a ditch while on high speed.
