
The former Vice President emerged as the preferred candidate of the main opposition party in its just concluded convention of the party which held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
Chairman of the board, Senator Walid Jibrin, who made the observation in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, has, therefore, urged all party members to support him.
Jibrin praised the delegates to the convention for doing an excellent job in choosing Atiku.
He had has also implored all those who may have suffered one misfortune or the other during the convention to let bygones be bygones.

According to him, the Port Harcourt convention has been the best since the formation of the party in 1988.
Jibrin, therefore, praised the Chairman of the convention and the Secretary, Governors Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, respectively, disclosing the plan for the BoT to honour them for their feat.
The state said: “On behalf of BoT I want to congratulate the party and delegates for performing their legitimate rights at the convention.
“May I specifically congratulate Governor Okowa of Delta State the Chairman and the Secretary, Governor of Ebony state, for organising the best election I have ever witnessed.
“Okowa and Umahi deserve salutation and ovations from all PDP members and of course, all Nigerians for organising free, fair, and most transparent election ever since forming PDP in 1998.
“The BoT has concluded all arrangements to present special awards to Okowa and Umahi for the wonderful performance.
“Our delegates deserve a loud ovation for the excellent job that produced Atiku Abubakar as President of Nigeria come 2019.
“As the chairman of BoT and all my members, we shall engage ourselves in National advisory and campaign councils for the campaigns.
“Atiku is the best of all other parties candidates I urge all PDP members to support Atiku.
“I want all party members who suffered one difficulty or the other in Port Harcourt to be cool for the love of the party.”
