The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Kaduna Polytechnic Engr. Abubakar J. Abdullahi has debunked publications on digital media linking him to a purported interview he granted criticising the polytechnic’s management.
He expressed this in a statement he personally signed, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Wednesday.
“The attention of the Chairman of ASUP Kadpoly, Abubakar Jibin Abdullahi, has been drawn to publications by certain digital media outlets and blogs alleging that he granted interviews or issued press releases making statements about Kaduna Polytechnic or its management.
“The Chairman categorically dissociates himself from these alleged “interviews” or “press releases.”
Since his re-election on September 26, 2024, the Chairman has granted only one press release/interview, which was held on October 15, 2024,” it said.
The statement clarified that the event solely addressed the ultimatum issued by ASUP National to the Federal Government.
“Any other purposed interviews or statements attributed to the Chairman after October 15, 2024, are false and should be disregarded.
“The Chairman, along with the Union, is pursuing legal action to address this issue and prevent future occurrences,” it said.
