An Anambra Business Mogul, Prince Arthur Eze of Ukpo town, has empowered no fewer than 150 women in his neighbouring town Ukwulu with millions of naira.
This is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government and Governor Charles Soludo’s Agricultural Support Programs in Anambra State.
Arthur Eze brought relief items and cash to the people of Umugama women and some farmers in the community who lost their crops as a result of the proposed construction.
Sunday Ideyi, the Umugama village chairman, said the Philanthropist gave a huge sum of money to empower the women of Umugama from Ukwulu town whose farmlands were cleared for investment and development in the village.
While presenting the money to the affected women, Ideyi commended Arthur Eze for always touching the lives of the needy.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with journalists at the Umugama Village Hall during the disbursement of the fund also expressed gratitude to Arthur Eze for his gesture.
The beneficiaries promised to go back to the Farm this farming season and produce more food since their hope has been restored.
Ideyi advised the beneficiaries, especially the women, to put the tools to maximum use.
Sunday advised the newly elected women leader of Umugama women’s wing, Mrs Juliana Uche Nwabunze who was just elected a day before the disbursement to make sure that the women should make proper use of the money for reinvest in cassava farming.
The Women Leader of Umugama women wing, Mrs Juliana Uche Nwabunze who was excited, promised that she would make sure that all the beneficiaries didn’t mismanage the money but rather reinvest it into their Cassava farming.
Also, speaking with journalists, the founder of Community Allied Farmers Association of Nigeria (COMAFAS), Dr. Maduka Austin commended the Umugama Village Chairman for his leadership.
Dr Austin also thanked Prince Arthur Eze for his philanthropy towards the people of Umugama.
“Our women am encouraging you all to please engage in cassava farming this year because there will be hunger and farming is essential now in Nigeria, I deeply encourage everyone to work hard”, Dr Austin added.
