The Army said it arrested four robbery suspects in Felele area of Lokoja, Kogi State, while the police apprehended two suspects believed to be behind recent kidnap and robbery activities along Okene – Lokoja road.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command Army Records, Lokoja, Capt Nick Ejeh, who paraded the suspects at the Government House, said they were arrested while operating in military uniform.
The four suspects arrested by the army, Japhet Ataem, Saviour Daower, Joseph Usar and Isaac Danold, are all from Guma Local Government Area of Benue.
Ejeh said the suspects were arrested by soldiers on patrol, who engaged the suspects in a shootout during which some of them sustained gunshot injuries, adding that three of the robbers escaped.
He, however, expressed worries over increasing rate at which military uniforms were being used by perpetrators of crimes.
Items recovered from them included one AK47 rifle, two pump action assault rifles and many rounds of live ammunition.
