The attention of the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Lagos State Chapter, has been drawn to fake news and rumours circulating in Lagos State that one ARA Olumuyiwa has been appointed as the new Governor of PMAN in Lagos.
It is important to note that the so-called acclaimed person has never appeared at a PMAN Lagos State Chapter meeting since the inception of this administration, let alone being a bona fide or financial member.
PMAN Lagos State Chapter, encompassing all its zones and segments, has over the years coexisted as a unified entity operating in peace and harmony, as evidenced by the just concluded novelty match among the segments.
Thus, any group gathering without the democratic constitutional mandate of musicians, a defined duration of office, or transparency of duty to the state chapter and members, treating PMAN as their family inheritance, is null and void.
The constitution of PMAN does not allow appointments but mandates a democratic election of executive members.
We are using this medium to implore the general public to debunk the news and treat it as fake, aimed at disrupting the smooth running of the organisation and instigating a crisis.
The only legitimate and constitutionally elected and recognised Executive Governor of the PMAN Lagos State Chapter is Chief Kareem A. Osoba, a.k.a. Kabiyesi.
Any other individual or group claiming otherwise does so at their own peril and will be charged with impersonation.
“Mr. Pretty Okafor, who allegedly approved the appointment, has no constitutional right or power to do so. There has been no election conducted by PMAN yet.”
“If there are any developments in all aspects of the organiSation’s activities, we shall communicate with the general public via appropriate channels and mediums duly signed by the right authority.”
