APC to proceed with LG congress

Amidst allegations that the recently conducted Ward Congresses were marred with irregularities, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) has adopted the results of the Congresses held on Saturday, July 31st, 2021.

It equally mandated the State Caretaker Committees to proceed with the inauguration of the Ward Congress.
These formed part of the resolutions of the meeting of the APC CECPC held on Tuesday at the party national secretariat in Abuja.

With this development, the interim national leadership of the APC might have resolved to ignore complaints by aggrieved chieftains, despite its composition of Ward Appeal Panels.

Further checks revealed that the Wards Appeal Panels were yet to submit reports in some of the states.

The APC CECPC in a statement signed by its secretary, John Akpanudoedehe at the end of its Tuesday meeting equally directed that “the conduct of nationwide Local Government Congresses proceeds accordingly by Saturday, September 4th, 2021 as contained in the official timetable/schedule of activities released by the party.”
