Deputy governor of Ondo State and chairman of the screening committee, Honourable Agboola Ajayi thanked all the 12 aspirants for responding to questions politely and committing themselves to an agreement to eschew violence before, during and after the party primary. The aspirants according to him also signed an undertaking to abide by the outcome of the primary.
“They were screened in line with the party constitution and guidelines.” National organizing secretary of the party, Osita Izunaso thanked the committee for a delivering on the assignment diligently.
“We are indeed very pleased that you were given this assignment within a short time and you delivered. Izunaso said the election committee would be inaugurated tomorrow and further promised that the exercise slated for next Saturday will be transparent.
“The party has always maintained that election must be a family affair and we are happy that there has not been any violence. We are hopeful that one of you will emerge to fly the party flag as candidate and win the election for APC.”
He later presented the aspirants with certificates of screening. The only female aspirants, Kate Ukaegbu who spoke on behalf of his colleagues thanked the screening committee for its transparency in the course of its interaction with aspirants.
Also speaking with newsmen, Senator Uba said he was ready to abide by the outcome of next Saturday primary slated for Awka.
“People have rumoured that I was walked out of venue of the screening; nothing like that happened. It was a malicious lie. It is God that gives power and nobody should happen that he can play god. No issue came up, I didn’t like up to 20 minutes before the screening committee. I have gone through several clearances in the past. So, I don’t think it should be an issue that I was walked out.
