THREE civil servants in the employ of the Ogun State government were rewarded for their diligence to duty by Governor Ibikunle Amosun, on Monday.
They are Mr Wole Dosunmu and Alhaji Waheed Adesina, both of the Ministry of Information and Strategy and one Mr Sule Isiaka, who works at the Governor’s Office.
Other beneficiaries are a street sweeper whose name could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report and a traffic warden officer, Folashade Adekoya.
The governor announced the gesture during the presentation of keys to successful applicants of the AAK Degun MITROS Estate, Laderin, Abeokuta, that the trio of Dosunmu, Adesina and Isiaka, were rewarded for their outstanding performances complied during the last Workers Day celebration.
Amosun explained that he had been monitoring the duo of the street sweeper and the traffic warden over a long period of time for their dedication to duty.
He told the gathering at the ceremony that the two were always at their duty posts as early as 5.00am, and that he noticed their commitment.
They were all rewarded with two bedroom flats for standing out and being diligent in their duty posts.
The event also witnessed the presentation of keys to 160 public servants who applied for the houses.
The governor added that the gesture was to fulfil his administration promise to provide affordable houses to workers in the state.
According to him, apart from its aesthetic layout; road network, and being fully-serviced with electricity and water supply; a new block of shops to provide commercial retail services to residents was also constructed.
He said, “Let me also use this opportunity to call on genuine individuals and corporate organisations, to partner with us. There are diverse opportunities for partnership in the provision of building materials; technological transfer; joint ventures; Build Operate and Transfer (BOT); and even Public- Private Ownerships and Estate Developments. I assure you all that you will find us to be reliable partners.”
