Foremost stand-up comedian and motivational speaker, Alibaba may have had a successful career in comedy over the years but the king of comedy, as he’s fondly called, does not seem to be getting tired of reinventing himself as the industry demands.
This may have pushed him into another line of job as the Delta State born writer has announced the commencement of a new late night show, Alibaba Seriously, which will come up on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) every Sunday by 11:30 p.m.
For more than six weeks, Alibaba has been keeping his fans guessing over his next move as different pictures of popular late night shows flooding his Instagram page on daily basis.
During the week, the comedian who is rated as one of the richest and most influential Nigerians in the entertainment industry, asked his fans and followers to brace up as he’s set to own the late nights.
“We are set to own the late nights. Brace up,” he had said days back.
According to him, the show will play four top rated music videos every Sunday night and will certainly be Nigerian music videos that are of high quality and of equally creative standards.
On his decision to air the show on NTA, Alibaba who is currently planning for the third edition of his comedy event, Alibaba’s January 1st said he wanted to tap into the more than 60 million viewers NTA network station currently enjoys.
“Many people have called to ask why not other options with clearer pictures. I chose NTA network because I want to tap into that over 60 million viewers. I have also witnessed the different digital upgrades at the NTA and it is on all satelite stations in Nigeria.”
