In a grand celebration of excellence and innovation, Mr Damilare Tiamiyu was bestowed with the prestigious African Icon of Our Generation Award on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at a grand ceremony held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
This honour recognises Tiamiyu’s outstanding contributions and peak performance in the field of Data Analytics Consulting.
The accolade, organised by Accolade Communications Limited in collaboration with the International Centre for Comparative Leadership for Africans and Blacks in Diaspora, highlights individuals who have made significant impacts in their professional spheres.
Tiamiyu’s recognition underscores his pioneering work and transformative approach to data analytics, which has set new benchmarks and propelled the industry forward.
The award ceremony was a distinguished affair, attended by notable figures from various sectors as Tiamiyu took the stage to accept his award, he was met with resounding applause.
In his speech, he expressed profound gratitude for the honour and dedicated it to his colleagues and mentors who have supported his journey, adding, “This award is not just a recognition of my work, but a testament to the collaborative efforts and unwavering dedication of my team. Together, we have pushed the boundaries of what is possible in data analytics.”
The African Icon of Our Generation Award has a tradition of recognising luminaries, who have made remarkable contributions to society.
Past recipients of this respected award include Dame Pauline Tallen, OFR, former Minister of Women Affairs; Prof. Vincent Ado Tenebe, former Vice Chancellor of the National Open University; Prof. Isa Ali Pantanmi, former Minister of Communication and Digital Economy; and Brig. General Maharazu Ismaila Tsiga, former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
