The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr Abdulkadir Mu’azu, has said that the Ministry has delivered over 50 per cent of 2020 budget.
He said that the Ministry has continued to reposition itself despite the challenges of herdsmen/Farmers feud, terrorism and flood incidences.
Dr Mu’azu said this during at the occasion of the 3rd edition of the Annual Best Staff Award ceremony of the Ministry.
“I am pleased to inform you that we have delivered over 50 per cent of this year’s budget creditably even while we recognise that more work still need to be done.

The Permanent Secretary said these achievements recorded by the Ministry could not have been possible without the ingenuity of the Staff and other stakeholders in the sector.
He, however, said the staff and management of the Ministry must not rest on their laurels as much is expected from this Ministry. “We are to provide food security, create jobs and reduce poverty,” he added.

“If the Public Service must continue to be at its best in delivering effective and efficient services, we must continue to encourage reward system for outstanding performance.”
He said the management will continue to do its best in motivating staff in order to enhance optimum performance for effective service delivery.
While congratulating all officers honoured for their selfless services to the nation, he expressed hope that the recognition for the award would spur them to aspire for greater productivity.
