Members of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in Jigawa state besieged the main entrance of the government house protesting and calling for the removal of the state Commissioner of Agriculture, Muttaqa Namadi.
The provoked party members who are from the same council home local government area, Ringim, as the commissioner, accused him of allegedly sabotaging the Governor Umar Namadi government in all his activities.
Speaking at the main entrance of the Jigawa government house, the leader of the protesters and APC Ringim ward chairman, Malam Muhammad Abdullahi said “We are here to express our worry over the conducts of the commissioner of Agriculture Alhaji Muttaqa Namadi.
“All you can see here are 11 wards and polling units executives of Ringim local government areas, the home local government areas of the the commissioner and we are calling for his removal from office.
“This man is representing us and people of Ringim local government area poorly. He is not supporting or assisting our party (APC) members in area, and this is contrary to the Malam Umar Namadi-led administration’s policies and programmes of human and infrastructure.
“We, bonified members of the party (APC) and people of Ringim local government here are appealing to His Excellency Malam Umar Namadi to sack the commissioner of Agriculture Alhaji Muttaqa Namadi for failure of responsibilities in both government and political party affairs.”
Receiving the protesters, the Jigawa state APC chairman, Hon Aminu Sani Gumel assured the party members of delivering their complaint to the governor.
Gumel noted that “I will deliver you complaint to His Excellency Governor. I’m sure and assuring you the His Excellency Governor would do justice on the matter.”
He reaffirmed the Malam Namadi-led administration’s commitment of improving human and infrastructural development through strict implementation of his 12-point agenda.
The APC chairman called on the people in the state to live in peace and support the governor and government to enjoy dividends of of democracy.
When contacted via his mobile phone, commissioner of Agriculture Alhaji Muttaqa Namadi denied all the allegations, “All is not true. I’m a commissioner and a politician. His Excellency Governor appointed me to serve in his cabinet.
“He (governor) shoulders responsibilities on me for over one year now. I’m doing all my best to deliver and protect the governor and government’s image. So also the person who entrusted me the responsibility in the ministry of agriculture did not complain, I believe I’m trying my best.
“As I told you I’m a politician who always stays together with people. We are three commissioners from Ringim. Since I was appointed as commissioner I have been sleeping in my house at Ringim everyday. I’m most of the time staying out side interacting with people whenever i’m at home.
“The governor and the government are doing their best to deliver all responsibilities. Government provides fertiliser, improve seedlings and uncountable supports and assistance in agriculture and all the sectors. What do they needed?.
“I’m doing positively good in attending and assisting my people more especially from my constituency. Every body knows that itt Allah Almighty has the capacity to satisfy every one. I’m advising politicians to have business doing not relying on the other people.”
