Making the commendation yesterday was Services (AIS) personnel with the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr James Olukayode Olalekan, a senior personnel at the Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) Directorate at NAMA.
Olalekan, an aspirant for the position of President in the forthcoming election of Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) during a media chat used the period to unveil some of his lined-up plans for the association.
According to Olalekan, aviation training is continuous and very necessary, emphasising the need for retraining for those that have been trained in the past since technology changes constantly.
“I want to use this opportunity to give kudos to the present management of NAMA. Prejudice apart, the present management of NAMA within a year the Managing Director has come, he has really proven himself to be a man that can be trusted,” Olalekan said.
While advising for a succession plan so as to retain a viable workforce in the agency, Olalekan said: “I will not say exactly that the manpower is enough, we still need more. At the same time, people that are on ground need to be trained for them to be able to take over.
