Coded Tunes used to be home to Olamide, 9ice, Reminisce, 2Phat, Lord of Ajasa and Konga before things fell apart and forced major acts on the label to go in search of greener pasture.
9ice, who was arguably the biggest act on the label, had just released his popular album, Gongo Aso at that time but turned his back on Coded Tunes, raising questions on what could have pushed the Gbamu Gbamu crooner away from the label.
Cabassa, on the other hand kept tight lips amid the controversy that lasted for more than five years while he concentrated on his music and activities in the church as a leading chorister.
Though 9ice and Cabassa had reconciled over the years while Olamide and others who were part of the team still pay huge respect to Cabassa for being part of their music foundation and success stories.
This new song will finally put to rest doubts that 9ice and Cabassa may not be working together again as they both brought back memories and reignited the chemistry of old times that made them the toast of music lovers.
The new song, Weapon, produced by Cabassa, reflected the gospel side of Cabassa while 9ice added his unique voice to make the tune a hit.
