The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology in the out gone 8th National Assembly, Hon. Beni Lar has given the session a pass mark saying that it had surpassed previous sessions in terms of laws passed by the legislature.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja at the weekend on the achievements of the House under Speaker Yakubu Dogara and his deputy Hon. Yusuff Lasun, the lawmaker disclosed that about 300 bills were passed by the House during the period.
Hon Lar who is a returning member representing Langtan North/South Federal Constituency of Plateau State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party lauded the efforts of the two presiding officers of the National Assembly and expressed the hope that the 9th Assembly would work with other arms of government in order to build on what the 8th NASS had achieved already.

She further noted that the House under the speaker had been able to secure FIRO certification which enabled goods manufactured in Nigerian to be exported to other countries of the world without hindrance.
Speaking on the achievements of the Committee of Science and Technology, she disclosed that the Committee had been able to sponsor nine bills on many important national issues which have been passed by the House.
On the security challenges facing the nation presently, she said that there is the need to overhaul the nation’s security architecture to enable and as well as equip all the security forces with the needed modern equipment to combat the insurgency now threatening the peaceful co-existence of the nation.
