Which hurts more, heartbreak from an actual relationship or a situationship? Dealing with heartbreak from a romantic or sexual relationship that was not defined can be difficult. There is no definite principle about healing and coping with such heartbreaks. However, there are a few ways to cope, whether male or female.
1. Be honest
Don’t lie to yourself that you’re not hurt, even if you’ll lie to everyone. Lying to yourself will hurt you and cloud your judgement on your healing journey.
2. Identify the fault of both parties
Identify your and the other party’s faults and create systems to enable you to work on your faults where necessary. Letting the other party know their fault could also help you deal. You should talk to them about it, but not necessarily.
3. Talk about it
It might be painful and seemingly embarrassing to talk about it. However, talking to trusted persons gives you a ticket to having a clearer mind and judgement. It also allows you to be consoled and guided where necessary.
4. Don’t force friendship
You don’t have to force a friendship with the other involved party. You can be on good terms and not be friends or acquaintances, and that’s okay.
5. Journalling
There could be a probability of suffering a relapse from a situationship that happened a while ago, journalling could help you identify those moments and navigate them healthily.
