A 24-year-old woman, Koffat Martha Amadosi, who is battling kidney disease, has appealed to the Kogi State Government and well-meaning individuals for urgent financial assistance to undergo treatment.
Amadosi, currently admitted at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, requires ₦30 million for a kidney transplant.
Hailing from Ogorimagongo Local Government Area of Kogi State, she has been suffering from kidney disease since November 2024.
Speaking from her hospital bed, Amadosi recounted her journey, explaining that she was first diagnosed at Oprime Hospital in Lekki, Lagos, before being transferred to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja.

A National Diploma (ND) holder from Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, she pleaded:
“Nigerians should not allow me to die. Nothing is too small to contribute so that I can get my life back. Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, please come to my aid. You have helped others before, and I know you will help me too. Nigerians, please help me so I won’t die.”
A breakdown of the required funds indicates that ₦25 million is needed for the transplant, while ₦5 million is for post-surgery medication.
She further stated that her parents, who are local government workers, have spent all they have on her diagnosis and other treatments but cannot afford the transplant costs.
Meanwhile, a non-governmental organization, Participation Initiative for Behavioral Change in Development (PIBCID), has also appealed to the government and kind-hearted individuals to assist Amadosi.
The Executive Director of PIBCID, Akande Rachael Remilekun, made the call during a visit to the patient, urging Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, relevant stakeholders, and the public to support her life-saving procedure.
