The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Imo State Chapter, has elected both State House of Assembly and National Assembly candidates for the 2027 election.

This follows the successful conclusion of the party primary election held in the state, which produced 10 House of Representatives, three senatorial, and 25 House of Assembly candidates.

The primaries, held under strict adherence to the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines, witnessed massive participation of party faithful, aspirants, and stakeholders.

The exercise, conducted and supervised by the state Executive Committee led by Hon. Eko Atu, was peaceful, transparent, and reflects the ADC’s commitment to internal democracy and grassroots ownership.

Among those elected as flag bearers of the party are Vincent O.N. Iwuchukwu as senatorial candidate for Imo West, Ofoegbu Uchenna Daniel for Imo East, and Ibekwe Nkiruka Imma for Imo North.

House of Representatives candidates include Amadi Samuel Okechukwu for Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West federal constituency, Ogbonna Chukwudi Joseph for Ihette/Uboma/Ehime Mbano federal constituency, Ifeanyichukwu Emanuel Egejuru for Onuimo/Isiala Mbano/Okigwe federal constituency, and Obama Ikechukwu Calistus for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru federal constituency.

Others are Okoro Rex Chikwesiri for Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Mbaise federal constituency, Anselem Nwoko Ikwu for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor-Okpala federal constituency, Bismark Chike Iheomazuruoke Akanoo for Nkwere/Isu/Njaba/Nwangele federal constituency, Peters Uchenna Richard for Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West federal constituency, and Kingsley Nnadi Okwarabizie for Ideato North/Ideato federal constituency.

The party equally elected 25 state House of Assembly candidates, including Ebo Marcel Chibueze for Ehime Mbano state constituency, Nwadike Henry Ogechi for Nkwere state constituency, Isaac Ugochukwu Mbika for Orlu, Emmanuel Ifeanyi Uwaegbute for Okigwe, Uba Chinonso Theodore for Mbaitoli, Amadi Carlson Chidi for Ohaji/Egbema state constituency, and 19 other candidates in the state.

Speaking after the conclusion of the exercise, the Hon. Eko Atu-led state Executive Committee commended delegates, aspirants, and the electoral committee for their discipline and sportsmanship.

He said the outcome produced a crop of flag bearers with proven track records, deep grassroots connection, and the capacity to deliver quality representation and transformative leadership at both state and federal levels.

According to him, the African Democratic Congress in Imo State is proud to present candidates who embody competence, integrity, and the aspirations of the people.

He said: “These flag bearers are ready to engage Imo electorates on issues that matter: security, jobs, infrastructure, education, and economic revitalization.”

He said the successful process is a clear statement that the ADC remains the most organised, united, and people-centred political platform in Imo State today, pointing out that the party is battle-ready, united, and determined to offer Imo people a credible alternative in 2027.

In his remarks, the Imo State Chairman of ADC, Prof. James Okiroma, congratulated all elected flag bearers and called on all members, supporters, and stakeholders to rally behind them in building an unstoppable momentum towards victory.

He acknowledged that the task ahead is to take the ADC’s message of hope and renewal to every ward, community, and household in Imo State.
