The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Fatai Adams, has reassured all the party’s aspirants and supporters of its determination to conduct a rancour-free primary ahead of next year’s general elections.
Adams who stated this while speaking with one of the House of Representatives aspirants, Abiodun Akintomide, said the party will employ any mode of primaries that will be rancor free but ensure a free, fair and credible primaries for all aspirants in the state.
Adams who urged all the party’s aspirants to embrace consensus where necessary to guide against divided house noted that the the party already had good and worthy aspirants in its fold, ahead of the primaries, saying where the consensus possible, aspirants should embrace it.
“We must unite ourselves, strengthen our party to win the forthcoming election. There is no way any other political party will defeat PDP in Ondo State,” Adams said.
Speaking, Akintomide,.an aspirant under the platform of PDP for the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo/ Odigbo House of Representatives election in the state said he is contesting for the seat to ensure better representation of his constituency at the National Assembly
Akintomide who stressed the need to add value to the constituency said he joined the race for the House of Representatives to bring fresh ideas and professionalism in serving the people
He noted that the Federal constituency had been shortchanged in the scheme of things, saying there was no development in the land.
He said, “I had been in PDP for the past 12 years. Politics is about service to humanity, delivering the essential necessities of lives to the people. I derived a lot of joy in putting smiles on the faces of the people, particularly, the youths.
“We need to embrace peace, we are trying to get the power back and we can do that if we embrace peace before, during and after the primary election.
“We should see ourselves as one family so as to ensure we have victory on the day of the election.
“PDP is in my blood, regardless of the result of the primary, I’m going to embrace the interest of my party.
“I am a man of peace and I will forever be, we are very strong and ready to take power. I had been in the party for the past 12 years and I will continue remain in the party no matter what.
“In view of this, I want to dedicate this form to millions of Nigerians that are suffering, the less privilege people of my constituency with the hope that comes 2023 I will emerge the winner.”
