A socio-political group, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Solidarity Vanguard (BATSV), formed to pursue the presidential ambition of National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has visited the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, to rally the support of the monarch and Ondo people for Tinubu’s ambition in 2023.
The Global Chairman of the group, Ambassador (Dr.) Dare Owotomobi, FCPA, who led other members of the group, including the Ondo State chapter chairman, Chief Akin Awodeyi; the State Acting Secretary, Mr Akindele Ahmed; Tajudeen Adetula, Akogun Niyi and Taiwo Hussein, said the visit was part of the grassroots mobilisation of people’s support for their candidate ahead of the next general elections in the country.
Owotomobi assured the monarch that APC would deliver on its developmental and growth programmes for the state, calling for the support and cooperation of the people of the state.
BATSV Global Chairman commended the royal father for his wisdom in creating synergies among Owo people, calling for more to be harnessed, particularly between Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and Dr Abiola Oshodi, who had, through Dr Abiola Oshodi Foundation, empowered many youths and women by organising art and technical skills acquisition programmes as well as quiz and football competitions aimed at discovering and mentoring youths.
Oba Ogunoye, in his response, commended the group for its sacrifices and inputs into the growth and development of Owo Kingdom, Ondo State and the country at large.
The monarch emphasised the importance of peace and tolerance as the nation approaches the 2023 political dispensation, urging all players to play by the rules of the game in the interest of the people and the nation.
Oba Ogunoye, who charged the group to continue to pursue courses that would change the life of the people for the better, noted that the people of Owo had a long history of consistency with the progressives, assuring that they would not deviate when it’s time for them to elect a credible person for the mantle of leadership of the nation.
BATSV Global Chairman, Owotomobi, thereafter, met with other stakeholders in Owo town, including High Chief Babatunde Olaposi coordinator of Owo Local Government Chapter of BATSV; Hon. Babatunde Oso, Hon Alhaja Wumi Otokiti, Chief Femi Osedemilola, who is the head of Aketi inner caucus team in Owo and across Ondo State, in the group’s drive to expand and consolidate on its reach and support base.
He also met with members of the Ondo State chapter of the Vanguard where issues sacrosanct to the chapter and political developments were discussed and reviewed in line with recent occurrences in the APC.
Owotomobi had prior to the Ondo visit, met in Lagos with the Chairman of the Ondo State chapter of BATSV, Chief Awodeyi, who briefed him on the progress and inroads the group had made into the heart of the electorate and assured of the solid support base for the candidature of Asiwaju Tinubu, come 2023.
