The Senatorial aspirant, Okoro who linked the poor performance of some National Assembly members from the state towards their inability to engage in maximum lobbying which was why a lot of democracy dividends have been eluding the people of the constituents disclosed this in a chat with Journalists in Abakaliki.
Okoro further noted that he will use his position as a senator to complement the efforts of Governor Umahi whose desire he said, was to make Ebonyi the most economic viable state in the country.

The aspitrant who decided to abandon his medical profession for politics, said politics remain the only way one could get into governance to better the lots of the people, adding that he will also ensure laws that would improve health sector were made.
He promised to stand against any form of injustice and marginalisation of any part of the country if elected a Senator come 2019 to serve for only four years for the purposes of equity and justice since it would be the turn of OHANIVO to produce a Senator of the zone come 2023.
“The act of legislation is all about lobbying. I will advocate for a maximum lobbying because there are a lot of things that are supposed to be given to our people which are not given to them. There are a lot of institutions that are supposed to be sited in Ebonyi state, but they are not being sited. There are a lot of positions that are meant for people from this state but we don’t get them because they look down on people from this state.
“We are going there to let them know that we are equal with any people they can bring out. And therefore, whatever that belongs to our people, we will make sure it reaches out people. We will make sure that our youths are employed. There are a lot of employment opportunities at the federal level and even in the foreign service. There are a lot of embassies that are looking for people but our people do not have access to these places but with our connections both within and outside the country, we will open Lee ways to make sure we help our Governor to attract foreign investments into this state.
“Foreign investments such as industries to complement his efforts so that our people will be employed. A situation where we have five industries per zones, you will see that all our people and our teeming youths will be gainfully employed and the economy of the state will be what his Excellency wants it to be, the best performing economy in this country.
“You know, politics is not a bad thing. Politics is the only way that you give yourself into governance to improve the lots of the people even health wise, because it is the policies that are made that will drive the institutions especially health institutions.
“There are policies that if you bring in now, you see a total turnaround in the health sector. You bring the national insurance scheme into effect. We will modernise it to be at par with what is obtained in western countries. Then, you will see a total difference in what you are seeing today in the health sector.
“So, as a Medical Doctor, I feel the purse of our people. They come into the clinic complaining daily and these complaints transfer into their different health status. And the only way we help solve these problems is to be at a place where you can make effective laws that can drive the policies for good governance for this country”, argued.
“I believe that by 2023, OHANIVO should take a shot at the Senate because, if not that the governor is from OHANIVO now, it should have been their turn. Why some of us wants to go there is to ensure that justice and equity reigns.
“I must be part of those policies or laws that are devoid of marginalization. What we need in this country is inclusiveness. I advocate for restructuring that will favor all parts of Nigeria. I will advocate for a system where no part of the country is left behind. A system where all the geopolitical zones are given equal rights and equal representation,” he noted.
