THE Anambra Central Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the February 16, 2019, Presidential and National election, Barrister Sylvester Okonkwo, said his party and its Presidential flagbearer, President Mohammadu Buhari and himself, remain the best option for the social-political development of the South Eastern region.
The Senatorial candidate, made the disclosure yesterday in his campaign office, opposite Anambra State Government House Awka while rubbishing claims that President Buhari hated the lgbos because they didn’t vote him in 2015. Okonkwo who is an ICT expert said despite propaganda allegedly sponsored by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Mr Peter Obi for their personal interest, the APC-led federal government had shown its commitment towards the development of the South- East in all ramifications.
He also refuted insinuations of alleged marginalisation of the region by APC Administration. Okonkwo said, the fake news being disseminated by PDP political officials in the South-East that President Buhari as a person does not like Ndigbo is unpatriotic.
According to him, the on-going projects across the five states in the South- East, Anambra, Enugu, Abia, Imo and Ebonyi and his promise to hand over power to the Igbos in 2023 are pieces of evidence to the determination of the Federal Government to uplift the South-East to unpredictable heights.
