The National President of the group, Honourable Fidelis Oryina Audu, who addressed newsmen, therefore, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to do all within its mandate to ensure that the election appears in a more transparent way and should be seen as the most credible one in the history of Nigeria.
According to him, “YPAD is undertaking to work with the Federal Government in its battle to eliminate corruption from Nigeria social economic and political sphere.
“We noted with grave concern the stress on the Nigeria mono-economy due to over-dependence on oil that is subject to the uncertainty of international market forces. National Executive Council (NEC), in its effort to help government out, is summiting a 34-page economic diversification roadmap using human capital as a resource for better sustainable economy,” he said.
He noted that there is social gap in strategy adopted by the Nigeria military, adding that this strategy being adopted now by the military might take a long time to win the war on terrorism if the civil society was not included, especially the youth.
“YPAD, NEC resolved that in furtherance to its commitment to enshrine sustainable peace in Nigeria, the youths shall put in place a department of Government Policy Interpretation Unit with sole responsibility of communicating government’s policy in more understandable ways to young people across Nigeria with policy long-term deliverables,” he promised.
The national president added that the resolution was in view of the government’s effort to adjust the Nigeria national narrative from negative to positive one through systematic social paradigm shift of corruption and abuse of public office.
