He said, “Vote buying is illegal. It is constitutionally wrong. There is a law that is against it. What INEC then needs to then do is that those that perpetuate such are arrested, tried in court and whatever judgment the court announces is what will have to happen. So we need to be more serious about enforcement of the law that is against vote buying. People will try but if we are ready and we arrest the situation, it will help us greatly as a nation to vote for the best candidates.”
Ogunbanjo, a Strategy Consultant, expressed confidence that INEC will conduct a free, fair and credible elections in 2019, advising the electoral body to work on all the challenges confronting it before the election proper.
“Every organisation is faced with one weakness or the other. INEC may have shown certain weaknesses and cracks in their camp, but I believe that the body can improve on it as we go along so that by 2019, they are ready and they would run a smooth election,” he added.
He promised that his administration, if elected into office, would provide a better standard of living for Ogun people, saying that the ideology of the party is people oriented saying “it is first the people, not just by lip service but indeed the truth. We are here to truly represent the people. Their aspirations may be achieved in their various forms. That’s why I am running for office and that’s what ANN is out to achieve.
