THE Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP), Kaduna chapter has charged the 68 registered political parties in the country to give women free forms to vie for elective positions as the 2019 election approaches.
Speaking in a one-day Sensitization programme to encourage women participation in Politics organised by the Kaduna Women Network Consultative Forum (KWNCF) with the support of the National Democratic Institute(NDI), the state Chairman of CNPP, Alh Umar Farouk remarked that the time has come to have more women representatives.
He charged women to have the courage to contest all elective positions, saying, don’t sell your seat and don’t compromise your positions.
Earlier, in her welcome address, the representative of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), Halima Abubakar said the programme was intended to encourage women to participate in politics.
She said NDI was pleased to discover that some political parties have indicated their resolve to support women politicians, pointing, women are now conscious of the political arena more than ever before.

“Women have decided to be part of leadership position. That is the more reason we in NDI are supporting women to seek political offices in 2019.
In her welcome address, the President of the Kaduna state Women Network Consultative Forum, Zulai Bello remarked that the main focus of the forum is Woman.
‘We want to see more women in politics. We want to see more women in leadership positions, more women in business arena.
