THE Presidential candidate of People’s Trust (PT), Mr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, on Tuesday, in Akure, Ondo state capital, dismissed the possibility of stepping down for any of the two leading candidates in the forthcoming Presidential election in the country.
Olawepo-Hashim who stated this while soliciting for votes from the people of the state in the forthcoming presidential election said the two political parties had been tested and failed to take the country to the promised land.
Olawepo-Hashim said, “Nigeria is a very interesting country, and I don’t know any country where other parties candidate are pressured to step down. I think its a coinage here because, in a multi-party democracy, nobody steps down, you win some seat and on the basis of this you can form a coalition based on the programme after the election”.
“The presidential election is not about party but about candidates and the future of this country and the two parties have failed in that regard. But we give hope that if we come in, Nigeria will be better”.
According to him, the two political parties should be held responsible for the current situation the nation found itself, saying there is hunger in the land and the people are angry.

He advised electorates to reject the APC and PDP and their candidates saying that they had failed the people of the country in the last twenty years through their unfriendly and anti-masses policies.

The presidential candidate of PT said his party has been working round the clock, fine-tuning its strategy in all states of the federation on how to wrestle power from the ruling APC, adding that PT had the highest number of representation in constituency nominations.
He expressed optimism of winning the election noting that more than 70 per cent of Nigerians voters have not decided who to vote for among the presidential candidates less than 11 days to the 2019 election.
He, however, expressed confidence that Buhari and Atiku would be defeated in the forthcoming election and said some few days to the election more than 70 per cent of the electorates are still wondering who they are going to vote for.
” They have been examined the candidates they are going to vote for and what these candidates promised to offer and among all the alternative parties, the PT is the biggest. But I can tell you that this election is still very open even though its ten days to the election
“This is one of the reasons I said if elected we will form a government of National unity which will accommodate the good people in the APC and PDP”
Olawepo-Hashim who was accompanied by his Campaign Director-General and former transport minister, Mr Habu Fari, said the country was too endowed with natural resources for the citizenry to be wallowing in poverty.
He vowed to introduce policies that would end insecurity and economic hardship if elected the president of the nation and called on eligible voters to secure their future by voting for his People’s Trust party in 2019 election.
The Director-General of PT Presidential campaign Council, Mr Habu Fari expressed delight that the people of Ondo state troop out en masse to receive Olawepo-Hashim, indicating that the people are ready to elect the third force which the PT candidate represented.
