TWO brothers, Mathew Elegbede (27) and Sunday Elegbede (33), are currently assisting the police in Ogun State to unravel the circumstances leading to the death of a 73-year-old man, Odeyemi Adebari.

According to a statement made available by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects were arrested following a complaint by the son of the deceased, who reported at the Agbara Division that the two brothers attacked his father with machete, while inflicting several injuries on him.

“The victim was rushed to the hospital, but later gave up the ghost four days later as a result of the injuries he sustained.

“The DPO of Agbara Division, SP Adegbite Omotayo, led his men to effect the arrest of the duo, and they have made useful statements to the police.

“Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects,” the statement read.
