Akinadewo, who delivered a paper entitled Church Leadership and Administration: Beyond Academic Qualifications, said the MCCSW remained committed to reforms in the white garment movement.
He said: “We must preach the word and ensure every prophecy, vision, revelation and action is in line with the word. We are not bothered by numbers, but quality membership determined to follow Christ through the thick and thin.”
Delivering the keynote address, he noted that academic qualifications remain relevant, but must never supersede spiritual considerations in church affairs.
“While academic certification is the primary focus for secular leadership, for church leadership, spiritualism and Christian virtues are the centre points and they precede any educational certifications. However, academic qualifications enhance the value of the shepherd, when dealing with his followers and the larger public,” he stated.
