In a bid to accelerate the implementation of its 25-year development plan, the Borno State government has taken a giant leap forward by training monitoring and evaluation personnel to enhance project efficiency and accountability.
Special Adviser on Monitoring and Evaluation, Bababukar Gujbawu, disclosed in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune that the 5-day training program was designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to conduct effective monitoring and evaluation exercises.
According to him, the training, conducted by MY IT CONSULT LIMITED, covered data collection, analysis, and reporting, as well as the use of specialized software and tools.
He explained that the Borno government has also provided vehicles to support the monitoring and evaluation teams, enabling them to conduct field assessments in remote areas.
He said the training is expected to lead to more accurate reporting, better decision-making, and improved project outcomes. “The government hopes to see a significant impact from this training, leading to better utilization of resources and improved development outcomes.”

Also speaking, the CEO of MY IT Consult, Mr. Mubarak Yusuf, said the training will boost the efficiency of Governor Zulum’s projects and lead to tangible improvements in the state’s infrastructure and economy.
“By prioritizing monitoring and evaluation, the Borno State government is demonstrating its commitment to transparency and accountability in the implementation of its 25-year development plan.”
In an interview, Andrew Ali and Musa Usman, personnel from the Biu Zonal Office of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Borno State Government, discussed their participation in the 5-day training program organized by the state’s Monitoring and Evaluation Department.
They said, “The training aimed to enhance their skills in monitoring and evaluation, enabling them to effectively assess the progress of government projects.”
According to Andrew Ali, the training was a valuable experience that equipped them with the necessary tools and techniques to conduct effective monitoring and evaluation exercises.
Musa Usman also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, stating that the training has boosted their confidence in collecting and analyzing data, reporting, and using specialized software and tools.
