The Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has organised training for School-Based Management Committees (SBMC) and Centre-Based Management Committees (CBMC) on the effective utilisation of grants for schools.
The Public Relations Officer of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Ibrahim Musa Maizare, on Monday, stated that the UNICEF training is a significant step towards improving educational standards in the state.
In his address, the Executive Chairman of ZSUBEB, Professor Nasir Garba Anka, lauded UNICEF for its unwavering support for education in the state.
He emphasised the importance of using the allocated funds according to the proposed plans and urged SBMC and CBMC members to justify the trust placed in them.
Professor Nasir Garba reiterated the board’s commitment to fostering collaborations with any organisation dedicated to advancing education in the state.
He urged participants to pay close attention during the training, as it would play a crucial role in their understanding and execution of grant management.
UNICEF focal person, Isah Suleiman, announced that ten Integrated Qur’anic Schools and five public primary schools would benefit from UNICEF’s support.
The training session focused on equipping participants with the necessary skills to effectively manage grants and ensure that funds are utilised to enhance the quality of education in their respective schools.
It was gathered that the collaboration between ZSUBEB and UNICEF is a promising initiative aimed at building the capacity of local education stakeholders.
The partnership was also designed to create a more accountable and transparent education system that ultimately benefits students across the state.
