Youths and women in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have been empowered with skills in cocoa, cassava, soybeans, and poultry farming.
The training workshop, held in Ogbomoso recently, was put together by the Federal College of Animal Health & Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Vom, Plateau State, in conjunction with Milestonehub Mega Concept Limited.
Addressing participants at the training, Chairman, Milestonehub Mega Concept Limited, Raji Abdulrazak, who appreciated the Federal Government for empowering the youths and women in farming skills to tackle the problem of unemployment among the youths and women in Nigeria, particularly in Ogbomoso, urged participants to make adequate use of the knowledge acquired during the training.
Provost, FCAH&PT Vom, Dr. Jude Okpara, said in his address that the college will not relent in its mandate to empower Nigerians with adequate skills in different agricultural value chains with a view to putting an end to food insecurity in the country.
One of the participants, while speaking on behalf of others, thanked the organisers for the opportunity with a promise to put what they had been taught to judicious use. A total of 80 youths were trained and empowered.
