Youths forum worries over incessant attacks by bandits/ISWAP groups in Shiroro LGA

The Gwada Youth Forum (GYF) is deeply concerned about the high frequency of attacks by Bandits and ISWAP groups in the Lakpma axis in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state.

Mallam Muazu Isah Gwada, the President of Gwada Youth Forum, expressed this concern in a press statement released on Sunday in Minna.

He highlighted that these attacks have resulted in killings, cattle rustling, kidnappings, and ransom demands by the bandits and ISWAPs in this area, as well as in other affected local government areas in the state and neighbouring states in Nigeria.

Mallam Muazu Isah Gwada, on behalf of the entire forum, strongly condemned these heinous acts and called for immediate action from the government, in collaboration with security agencies and the collective efforts of all stakeholders to address this grave issue.

While acknowledging and commending the state government’s efforts in addressing the menace, Mallam Muazu Isah Gwada emphasized the need for further steps to safeguard the lives and properties of the people in the state.

He also called for increased security presence, surveillance in the affected areas, intelligence gathering, and strategic operations to dismantle bandits’ camps and ISWAP strongholds.

The President of GYF also appealed for support for the victims’ families and communities affected by these atrocities.

Additionally, he called for collaboration between security agencies, local vigilantes, and community leaders in the fight against armed banditry and kidnapping in the state.

Mallam Muazu Isah Gwada highlighted the importance of greater synergy, intelligence sharing, and coordinated efforts among these groups to achieve their objectives.

He praised the government’s initiatives to address poverty, unemployment, and social vices inequality, and urged the state government not to relent in these efforts.

Finally, the President of GYF appealed to the people of the affected local government areas to cooperate with and support security operatives in order to tackle insecurity effectively.

He urged all stakeholders to join forces and work tirelessly to restore peace, security, and stability in their communities.
