Yorubaland will not retrogress under APC ― Osinbajo

VICE President Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday, in Ile-Ife said that Yorubaland will not suffer any form of retrogression under the government of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made this disclosure during a courtesy call on the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi in his palace.

Osinbajo, who was on a door-to-door campaign to some communities in Osun ahead of the February 16 presidential election maintained that the interest of the South West would be adequately protected under the leadership of the APC.

According to him, “I have told Ooni that whenever we want to start campaign, we would come to Ile-Ife. We, in the APC have the genuine interest of the nation at heart.”

Osinbajo, who spoke in Yoruba language stated that “we are for the progress of Yorubaland and this has been the interest of Ooni over a long period of time.”

“Yorubaland will not retrogress. We need to collaborate for the success of the nation. No country in the world can record any progress if its leaders are corrupt and dishonest. Buhari is honest and his enemies and detractors are aware of this”, he asserted.

In his remark, Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi described Osinbajo as the pride of Yorubaland, just he prayed for the success of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Osinbajo later proceeded on a door-to-door campaign to Hausa community at Sabo, in Ile-Ife and the palace of Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Moses Oyediran.
