The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi, has come out in defence of former Governor Yahaya Bello, stating that recent events in the Senate have vindicated the ex-governor’s stance.
Sen. Karimi expressed his disappointment in a press statement made available to journalists over the weekend in Lokoja, amidst a heated controversy surrounding Sen. Natasha’s conduct in the Senate.
According to him, the ongoing face-off between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Udaughan and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has brought shame and embarrassment to Kogi State.
Karimi expressed dismay that Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, had foreseen the current mess, implying that Sen. Natasha’s actions were predictable.
The senator lamented that despite his advice and appeals to Sen. Natasha, she has refused to listen, leading to a situation that has tarnished the state’s reputation.

Sen. Karimi stressed that Yahaya Bello’s foresight and commitment to having quality representatives have been justified by the current events unfolding in the Senate.
”All our advise to her fell on deaf ears. One can therefore not come to terms with the fact that Yahaya Bello saw it coming.
“Sen. Natasha has not only rubbished the State, from the events happening now and from what is on ground the State and all over the federation, Kogi as a whole is in a real mess in terms of our perception,” Karimi said.
