Leadership qualities of the Bauchi State Project Coordinator (SPC) of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape (ACReSAL) headed by Dr Ibrahim Kabir have been lauded for carrying everyone involved in the project implementation along.
It was observed that the teamwork spirit exhibited by the Officers, is the backbone of every success story of ACReSAL in the state, just as they were charged to continue working in synergy for the successful implementation of the project in the state.
The commendation came at the end of the Six days ACReSAL’s follow – on Technical Support Mission carried out by the World Bank Team and FPMU Specialists in Bauchi state.
The Team Lead, Mr Joseph Abang alongside other Specialists during the wrap-up session, appreciated the kind of hospitality given to them and commended the SPMU for a job well done.
The Team was especially impressed by the level of awareness about the Project to the communities visited, calling on them to maintain the tempo in that regard,
The Team advised the SPMU to make further follow-ups in the communities and checklist more quick wins observed during the engagements especially agroforestry facilities and activities which will go a long way in mitigating some of their identified challenges.
The State Project Coordinator, Bauchi ACReSAL, Dr Ibrahim Kabir used the session to express his profound gratitude to the World Bank for organising the exercise saying he is optimistic that all the support given to the SPMU will fast-track implementation of the project in the state.
He also commended his staff for their conduct throughout the sessions stressing that their dedication and commitment have remained the driving force for the project implementation.
It could be recalled that the mission was organised to support Bauchi SPMU in developing quick win activities, effecting corrections in the work plan and terms of reference, inspection of proposed project sites towards the development of Engineering Designs and Catchment Management Plan (CMP).
Community engagements were also conducted during the mission in most of the project sites where the Specialists and the SPMU Officers interacted with community members about their experiences and challenges around Agriculture, Environment and Water Resources, possible solutions to the identified challenges as well as livelihood activities among others.
Meanwhile, the Team of Engineers who were also part of the mission, wrapped up with inspection visit to proposed project sites towards the development of engineering designs for the civil works in the state as contained in a statement by the Communications Unit, Bauchi ACReSAL.
