The founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has shared his thoughts on how Aliko Dangote, founder of the Dangote Group, can contribute to boosting Nigeria’s economy.
During a recent radio programme on Raypower FM, Maharaj Ji outlined several measures that Dangote could undertake to support economic improvement in Nigeria.
According to Maharaj Ji, if Dangote aims to help the Nigerian economy, he should:
- Reduce Petrol Prices: Maharaj Ji suggested that Dangote should work towards reducing the price of petrol to at least ₦100 per litre once his refinery begins operations.
- Adjust Salaries of Top Management: He proposed that Dangote could assist the government by lowering the salaries of the top management staff within his organisation.
Maharaj Ji also expressed his hope for a new dawn in Nigeria and urged President Bola Tinubu to focus on revitalising all sectors of the economy.
Regarding the selection of a new Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) to replace Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who is set to retire on August 22, Maharaj Ji advised that the president and the National Judicial Council (NJC) select a patriotic Nigerian with the fear of God. He emphasised the need for a CJN who would collaborate with the president and not undermine Nigeria’s interests.
He further advocated for financial autonomy for the judiciary, similar to that of local governments, to promote honesty and independence within the Nigerian judicial system.
On the issue of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) threatening a strike over the kidnapping of their colleague, Dr Ganiyat Popoola, who was abducted in Kaduna on December 27, 2023, and has yet to be rescued, Maharaj Ji urged the doctors to be patient. He called on the president to take the necessary actions to ensure Dr. Popoola’s safe return.
Maharaj Ji also suggested that those found guilty of serious crimes such as murder and kidnapping should face imprisonment.
