The Kaduna state chairman of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP), Muhammad Lawal Sultan has affirmed that his party will participate in the next local government polls slated for 19th October 2024.
He made this known during the inauguration of 38 newly elected officials of the party in Kaduna on Wednesday.
Sultan reiterated that the party was not only ready for the polls but was ready to end the power of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, saying, “we are going to field all the available positions in the 23 local government areas of the state”.
According to the party leader, “NNPP will give the ruling APC in the state a good fight,” adding that “we will field 23 local government aspirants and 225 councillors”.
“We are going to close the sales of forms on Friday. So far we are happy with the calibre of those who will be flying the party’s ticket.
“I want to assure you that NNPP is turning into a formidable party that will pose a serious challenge to the ruling APC in the state and the country.”
He, therefore, charged the newly elected officials to know that they have a huge responsibility now that the local government polls are around the corner.
“We are not going to rest until we win convincingly because we have the advantage now that Nigerians are not happy with the sufferings being experienced in the country.”
The newly elected officials include Muhammad Lawal Sultan, chairman, Dr. Baba Ramson Adamu, Deputy state chairman, Aliyu A. Haruna, state secretary, Bello Ibn Aminu Deputy state secretary, Danlami Umar Sai, state vice chairman, amongst others.
