Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State said that more eligible persons would be employed into the state Security Network, also known as Amotekun, just as he said the state government would provide them with the necessary equipment for successful operations.
Akeredolu who stated this, on Tuesday, in Akure, Ondo State capital while receiving member of the Ifon Progressive Union led by its President, Chief Femi Awani to his office said this would enable the security outfit to fight against crimes and criminality.
He decried the worsening security situation across the country occasioned by the aftermath of the hijacked #ENDSARS protest where arms and ammunitions got into the hands of criminals.
The governor who noted that the state will never forget the late Olufon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi, who was killed by some bandits between Owo and Ifon in Ose local government area of the state.
He said the late monarch will be remembered always for his untiring love for Ifon, his people and the state at large, describing the late traditional ruler as one of his strongest supporters in the state.

He harped on collaborative efforts between the state government and the people, particularly in the area of neighbourhood and village security as one of the most effective ways to nip the spate of crime in the bud.
Akeredolu disclosed that the Ondo State Security Network Agency, code-named “Operation Amotekun” has continued to comb the forest in Ifon, adding that the people of the area should give necessary support to the security agency.
Earlier, the President of the Ifon Progressive Union, Chief Femi Awani, described the presence of the governor as late as 10 pm the night Oba Adeusi joined his ancestors and the condolence words as promising and assuring.
He said the governor’s visit went a long way to douse the palpable tension that gripped the town when the news of the incident was broken in the town.
Awani explained that the late monarch had for years been at the forefront of the campaign to combat crimes in the town, reiterated their readiness to collaborate with the government in identifying and implementing solutions to the situation.
