A four-man All Progressives Congress (APC) ward congresses appeal committee for Kwara State, on Monday, commenced sitting in Ilorin, the state capital.
It is recalled that the ward congress was held in the 193 wards in the 16 Local Government Areas of the state on July 31, 2021, while some aggrieved members of the party decided to write petitions on the conduct of the exercise.
Speaking with Tribune Online in Ilorin, on Monday, the chairman of the APC appeal committee, Barrister Yusuf Badonmok, called on every aggrieved member of the party to come forward with their petitions on their grievances arising from the conduct of the exercise.
Bandomok, who led a four-man appeal committee, spoke on the sideline of a stakeholders meeting of the party in Ilorin on Monday, saying that the committee has five days to sit on the appeal panel towards resolving areas all matters arising from the July ward congress in the state.
“We have already received some petitions from Abuja. We came with them to Ilorin. We’ll commence hearing today by 2:00 pm. We are also asking people who could not come to Abuja to bring their own petitions to the APC party secretariat here in Ilorin so they can be heard. The people that brought theirs today would be heard tomorrow. Those that bring tomorrow would be heard on Wednesday. However, receipt of petitions closes by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, he said.
Also speaking at the programme, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Kayode Alabi, said that the APC is one in Kwara state, assuring that all grievances arising from the ward congress would be resolved amicably.
He enjoined party members to be united and support the APC government of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, towards delivering dividends of democracy that his administration had promised the people of the state.
The event was attended by chieftains of the party, political office holders, as well as party supporters.
